Elizabeth A. Cudney, Ph.D.________________________________

Dr. Cudney is a principle consultant for Ragsdell & Associates, based in St. Louis, Missouri. Ragsdell & Associates is committed to helping organizations improve their performance by using modern quality tools including Quality Management, Quality Engineering, Design for Six Sigma and Lean.

Dr. Cudney received her B.S. in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University. She received her Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with a Manufacturing Specialization and Master of Business Administration from the University of Hartford, and her doctorate in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri – Rolla.

Dr. Cudney is an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. She is serving as co-chair of the 2007 IIE/ASQ Lean and Quality Conference. Dr. Cudney served as co-Chair of the 2006 IIE/ASQ Quality Drives Lean Conference and co-Chair of the 2005 IIE Lean Management Solutions Conference. She is serving on the conference committee for the 2007 Industrial Engineering Research Conference (IERC) and served on the conference committee for the 2003 IIE Solutions International Conference. Dr. Cudney is currently serving a second term as the President of the IIE Lean Division. She is actively involved as a member of the Rotary Club of Rolla, Missouri. Dr. Cudney is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the American Society for Quality (ASQ), the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the Society of American Value Engineers (SAVE), the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), and American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS).

She has published over thirty-five articles on topics including the Mahalanobis-Taguchi System, Robust Design, Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma. She also coauthored two workshops for APICS on standard work and 5S for their Lean Series Workshops.
